Tidemark does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. Everything you save stays on your device.
None. Tidemark stores your saved cards, notes, intent tags, reminders, attached files and settings exclusively in a local database on your device (Android Room) and the app's private storage. This data never leaves your phone.
Tidemark itself makes no network requests. There is no backend, no cloud sync, no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, and no advertising library. The Tidemark Pro one-time unlock is processed by Google Play Billing — that flow runs only when you tap "Unlock" on the paywall, and only Google Play (not Tidemark) sees your purchase. We do not receive any personally identifying information back from that purchase.
The app integrates the following Google libraries on-device only: Google Play Billing (purchase verification), ML Kit Text Recognition (OCR on shared images, runs offline), and the Android SpeechRecognizer (voice capture — uses your device's installed recognizer; behaviour depends on whether you have enabled offline speech in Android settings). None of these libraries send your saved content to Tidemark, and Tidemark does not transmit it anywhere either.
Tidemark may request the following Android permissions:
POST_NOTIFICATIONS — to deliver the reminders you set on individual cards. Reminders are off by default.
USE_EXACT_ALARM — so reminders fire at the time you chose, not whenever the OS feels like it.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — to re-schedule pending reminders after you restart your phone.
USE_BIOMETRIC — only used if you enable the Pro biometric app lock. Tidemark never sees your biometric data; Android handles the prompt and only tells Tidemark "ok" or "not ok".
The app also declares share-target filters so it appears in the Android share sheet. Anything you share into Tidemark is copied into the app's private storage and stays there.
All data is local. Uninstalling the app removes all data permanently. You can also delete individual cards, attached files, custom intents, or the entire history from within the app at any time. Pro users can export a full JSON backup at any time and import it into another install.
Tidemark does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
