In plain English: Gridsmith collects nothing itself. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. The game is fully playable offline, forever. It has exactly two optional features that involve any network activity at all, and both go through Google, not through us: an in-app purchase handled entirely by Google Play Billing, and an optional daily-challenge leaderboard handled entirely by Google Play Games Services. Neither is required to play the game. Your weapon designs, rack, and progress are stored only on your own device and are never uploaded anywhere by us.
Gridsmith is a single-player, offline-first puzzle and crafting game. The developer of Gridsmith does not operate any server, does not collect any personal data, does not run any analytics or advertising software, and does not require you to create an account to play. The only data that ever leaves your device does so through two specific, optional Google services described below, and it goes to Google, not to us — we never see it.
The developer of Gridsmith does not collect, store, transmit, or have access to any of the following: your name, email address, device identifiers, location, contacts, photos, crash reports, usage analytics, advertising identifiers, or any other personal data. The app contains no analytics software development kits (SDKs), no advertising SDKs, and no third-party tracking libraries of any kind.
All game data — your weapon designs, your rack, your session progress, your daily challenge history, and your settings — is generated and used entirely on your device and is never sent anywhere by the app.
Gridsmith offers one optional one-time purchase (a "Pro" or full-game unlock, priced around CHF 6) that unlocks additional content: the warhammer form, additional material families, additional regions, and additional rack slots that become earnable through play. This purchase is processed entirely by Google Play Billing.
Gridsmith includes a free daily challenge: a fixed puzzle, generated the same way for every player from that day's date, that you can play entirely offline. Submitting your score to a shared daily leaderboard is a separate, optional action, triggered only when you choose to tap a "Submit" button — the game never submits a score automatically, and every daily puzzle can be played in full without ever doing this.
All game data — including weapon designs, rack contents, session and progress state, the cached purchase entitlement described above, and your daily-challenge history — is stored only in the app's private local storage on your device. Gridsmith explicitly disables Android's automatic cloud backup for its app data, so this information is not copied to any cloud backup by the operating system either. Uninstalling the app permanently deletes this data. Nothing described in this section is ever transmitted to the developer of Gridsmith.
Gridsmith is a general-audience puzzle and crafting game with no personal-data collection, no account creation, no chat or messaging, and no advertising. Because the app itself collects no personal information, there is nothing about a child's use of the app for the developer to collect or retain. The optional leaderboard feature requires signing in with a Google account, and use of that feature is subject to Google's own account and privacy policies, including Google's rules on account eligibility.
This policy may be updated if the app's data practices change — for example, if a future version adds or removes an optional feature described above. Any changes will be posted at this same page, and the "Effective date" at the top will be updated accordingly. Your continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
